Choosing the perfect PC Speakers - As the speakers which are in-built to your PC are never usually of the best quality, it is a good idea to get some external PC speakers. External speakers will enhance the quality of your music, as well as the sound of films and games. There are many types of PC speakers to choose from, with different brands and styles to choose from.

Now what are you going to want in your speakers? This will depend on the type of sound that you want. I highly suggest getting a system with some sort of bass sub-woofer. This is what will really bring the experience to life. This doesn't necessarily mean a spike in the price either because most pc speakers nowadays come standard with some type of sub-woofer, but not all do so make note of this. When browsing stores you may notice that most are a big sub-woofer with two smaller speakers that output the mid's and high's of the system.

Firstly, you want to consider your budge, but it obviously depends on what you are expecting from them. The top quality speakers will cost you over £100, but cheaper versions can still enhance the quality of your sound. Some of the features you should look for are detailed below:

Media type – the media type would usually be two speakers, but you can have more if this is required. Two speakers will be enough to get a good overall sound quality, and won't take up too much space on your desk. Satellite PC speakers are the best type of speakers to buy, as they will produce higher quality of sound. You should look for 360 degree sound, as this means you will feel it throughout the room.

Style – there are many styles to choose from in PC speakers, and the sleeker the better. A colour to match your PC will make it even more attractive, and the more compact, the more space the speakers will save.

Headphone Socket – a headphone socket will allow you to listen to your music in privacy, without annoying your neighbours.

High quality subwoofer – the subwoofer should be of high quality, as this will give you the 'bassy' sound, which will make your music much more enjoyable. It will give you the sensation of being in a club, but in the comfort of your own home. A subwoofer of 9W should be sufficient, but again it depends on what you are looking for. PC speakers will require a subwoofer to make them worth buying, although a good bass will also do the trick.

Output Power – the higher the output power, the better the sound quality. PC speakers with a watt of 10 will produce good quality sound, but the higher this is, the better the quality.

Some of the most popular makes of PC speakers include Logitech,Edifier,Altec,Creative, HP,Harman Kardon and Inspire. It is worth while having a look in store to find the best speakers to suit your needs, and to get some advice. In order to get the best price, it is a good idea to compare the prices on in-store products, and then check this with those offered online. You can usually find better deals online, and more sale options.
